CLIMATE CHANGE

  Climate is the average weather condition in a place over a long period of time. The climate of a place is affected by its altitude and latitude, bodies of water and land masses as well as the amount of rainfall it receives and the wind system.

     When we say climate change, there is a change in temperature, air pressure and wind are changes that occur in the atmosphere. Climate change happens due to the energy of the sun. it plays a large part in our lives. For example, if in your place you experience more of rainy weather and a few day of sun weather for so many months during the year, you may conclude that you live in a place with a wet climate. Our country is affected by the Asian monsoon which is a land sea wind that changes direction every six months. We depend on monsoon winds to bring us the rains we need to make our crops grow. We have northeast monsoon from February to November and southeast monsoon from June to September. They bring us heavy rains and winds. These two special winds affect the amount of rainfall received by the different places in our country. There are four types of climate change that we experience here in our country. First type is the wet season from June to November. And dry season from December to June. Second type has no clear sign of dry season and the maximum rain period from December to January. Third type, seasons are not very pronounced. It is dry from November to April and wet during the rest of the year. And the fourth type, the places have evenly distributed rainfall the whole year.
There are factors that affect the climate of a place. It is the distance of place above sea level. If a place is far from the sea level, it means that its altitude is high and this is found in mountainous regions. Places near the sea level have low altitude and they are found in lowlands.

EQUAL RIGHTS, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

                 God created us to be equal to live in this world. In his eyes there is no ugly, beautiful or handsome. There are no rich or poor people. There is also no people who are in high or in low. Because in the eyes of our God we are all equal.

        Each person has the equal rights and equal opportunity. A person has the equal rights to breath in this world. He has the right in all what other had or longing for. He has also the ability to survive. He has the same rights when it comes to power, success and survival. A person has also the right to be free and to be happy. We have the same rights to love by others and to love others. All people have the right to live and to use the creations of God. A person has the equal opportunity. Opportunity is the combination of circumstances favourable for the purpose. A person has the opportunity to work for himself and for his family. He has also the opportunity to become better human being. Opportunity can be a small way to guide a person in doing good things. Equal opportunity means living with a hope to survive and to stand out that he can.

        As a masterpiece of God, we created to have the same rights and opportunities to live. We survive in his world by having a proportional living. And we should use it in a better way.

GOING GLOBAL THROUGH ENGLISH LANGUAGE

                  Our world is divided into seven continents, consisting of many countries. And there are a lot of people born from different races who live with different languages. But there is one language we uses, and it is the English Language. We uses this language in order to understand each other.

  English Language is the universal language. This language is viewed as a means of access to our ever increasing knowledge as a human being. We began to learned English language in school. In school we taught how to listen, speak, read and write through this language. Because the goal of English language is communicative competence. Communicative competence is an acceptable degree of fluency. When we global or travel in a certain country, we do not use our own dialects or languages. It is just because it will not understand by the person with a different nationality. But when we uses the universal language, we already understand with each other even though we lived in different land. If we speak in English, we already know what we will gonna do to survive and live. We can mingle with the foreigners better. Through English, we have knowledge and wisdom about the country we travel. It also enhance our skills when we uses English. This language is also our way to become part of the lives of the strange people around us.

   English language is also our big help in having a business in any countries. A way to guide a tourists. And in the best way to become closer together as a children of God. We should learn how to speak English for us to understand the people around us.

MY TEACHER MY HERO

                Hero. What are heroes for you? Who are your heroes? What qualities shall we consider in order to become a hero? Can a TEACHER be a HERO?

      Heroes are not only those people who have supernatural powers but also the one who do good deeds to his fellow and to his country. I am now a 4^th year high school, and hopefully I will be a college student. In my 12 years of entering school, I've met a lot of teachers holding records, chalk box, lesson plan while wearing their simplest uniform. There are different kind of teacher we see and encounter, like thin, stout, old, young, strict, kind, funny, single, married and many more. But all of them have two missions, to teach and guide us for our future. They are our second parents for they also teach us good moral values just like our real parents. They mold and nourish our minds with new facts and information that will serve as our weapons in the future. But aside from being a teacher who stand in front of us while discussing and teaching us a lesson, they are also our friend, a brother, a sister and a guardian angel. They are our friend because they laugh and share stories with us. They are our brothers and sisters for they listen to our problems. And a guardian angel for they give us advice and guidance. But sometimes they are correcting our mistakes that will help us become a good and better person. But in one word, they are my heroes. My TEACHERS are my HEROES. They are like Jose Rizal who used a pen and paper to teach the people from what is right or what is wrong. Just a simple chalk, they give us a big chance, hope, good moral values and inspirations in life.

      I thank them for what I am now today because of them I stand out in front a lot of people and making proud with my own me. They are my heroes for they teach us with their own best and capabilities.

UNRAVEL THE CAUSES. BUILD THE SOLUTION. EMPOWER SCIENCE CLUBBERS TO ACTION.

There are so many problems we are encountering these days. Like calamities, sickness, and any harmful effects. What shall we do to prevent these things? We should help each other and think some solution or ways to prevent these problems.

          Unravel the causes. Build the solution. Empower science clubbers to action. This is the year's theme for science festival. I know everyone of us has its own opinion, what will be the significance of this theme for us. For me, it's just a simple thought. To solve our mistakes and build a better world. Nowadays, we are experiencing a lot of calamities, sickness and any harmful effects. And all of these is caused by some human activities that upset ecological balance. Cutting trees, throwing trashes in the water, burning materials, not cleaning our environment and a lot more. These are the reasons why we are experiencing the anger of Mother Earth. Many lives died and many properties was destroyed because of the typhoons that destroyed our country recently. I felt lonely and ashamed to myself that I am one of the reasons why we are experiencing the causes of the mistakes we are doing. I know we can solve the causes. So that no more harmful effects or damages will occur. No more lives will be wasted and no more environment will be destroy. We should build the solution to make Mother Earth Happy and better again. And we are the solution, especially my fellow youth. Let’s give powers to the science clubbers to help us to engage for the betterment of our world that we are breathing for. Let’s plant trees in our surroundings for it serves as a good place for recreation and relaxation. Clean our environment, prevent pollution, throw your trash in its proper disposal and many more. I know we can make it if we unite as one so that we can live and breathe free.

          There is only one world we are living for, so let’s not destroy it. And we should be responsible in taking good care of our God's gift.

IDENTIFIED HERO

Heroes are the people who do good deeds to his fellow and to the country. They fight the people who are bad. They uses weapons or sometimes just a simple pen in fighting for peace and freedom. They are the people who offered their lives as long as to save many lives. Some of our heroes are Dr, Jose Rizal-our National Hero, Andres Bonifacio-founder of KKK, Lapu-Lapu, Melchora Aquino, Apolinario Mabini and many more. These people fought the Spaniards, Americans and Japanese in their own way. And they offered their lives for the freedom of our country.

Who is your Modern Day Hero? There are lot of heroes today, and I know you are very familiar with them. One of these are the workers, the teachers, soldiers, policeman, doctors, nurses, OFW and a lot more. They are heroes because they work hard, they save their fellowmen, they taught good things to the people and many more that will help to have a better and progressive country. Those who helped people who are in needs are also heroes for me. For they give alms and donations to the people without receiving anything from them as a form of payment. For me, my modern day hero is my parents. I considered and I identified them as my modern day hero because they are the reason why I am here. They take good care of me since I was born. They helped me in doing my assignments and projects. They let me go to school. They teach me good moral characters. They give me my needs and everything that will make me better and happy. My parents are very understanding, responsible, patient, kind, loving, caring and hard worker. I am very thankful because they were my parents and I am also very proud of them. My Parents are My Hero.

Being a hero is not only having a super power or fighting using a sword or any weapons to fight the enemies. We can also be a great hero by doing good things to other people and helping those people who are in needs without payment. Be good and responsible to the people especially to our family. Sharing our graces to others especially to those who are affected from any calamities. And praying to God for the sake of others and a lot more that will make or identify ourselves as great heroes.

WIKANG FILIPINO, GINAGAMIT MO PA RIN BA?

According to our National Hero Dr.Jose Rizal "Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa mabaho at malansang isda." Because of our language we will be united and it will also help us understand each other. And because of our lanuage we will identified as a Filipino Citizen.

Ngayong Agosto, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Buwan ng Wika. Na kung saan pinapaalala sa atin ang ating pagiging tunay na Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng ating Pambansang Wika, ang Wikang Filipino. "Wika Natin ang Daang Matuwid," ito ang tema ng ating buwan ng wika. Ang nais ipahiwatig nito ay ang ating sarilimng wika ay makatutulong din upang tayo ay maging maunlad, magkaroon ng kapayapaan, matitigil ang mga masasamang bagay na nangyayari sa ating lipunan at ano mang bagay na nais nating gawin at linangin na makakabuti sa ating bansa. Kung minsan nakakatulong din ang mga salitang ating binibigkas mula sa ating mga bibig. Lalo na kung ang mga salitang ito ay mabuti, naiintindihan ng bawat isa, susi sa ating pag-asenso at daan na rin upang tayo ay makarating sa sinasabing daang matuwid. Tulad ng mga salita o katagang lalaban tayo, sama-sama sa pag-unlad, walang susuko, gawin mo ang tama at iba pang makahulugang salita ay mas lumalakas ang ating loob na gawin ang nararapat upang ang baluktot na daan ay maisaayos at gawing matuwid. Ngayon gumagamit na tayo ng laptop,cellphones at pati mga social networking sites ay di tayo nagpapahuli. Dahil sa mga ito mas nagiging mabilis ang ating komunikasyon sa isa't isa. Ang komunikasyon na ito ay minsan din ay may malaking papel na ginagampanan sa ating bansa. Mas mabilis nating ipinapaintindi sa lahat o di kaya'y sa ating pamayanan ang tunay na sagot sa pag-asenso ng ating bansa.

We are Filipino. We should treasure our own language. We should be proud of who we are. Before we use another dialect or language we should use first our own dialect or language given to us by the late President Manuel L. Quezon.
